Melbourne Star, a 5 year gig?

Wacky Creative was engaged to help launch the Melbourne Star in December 2008. It was a wonderful event marred only by the closure of the wheel 40 days later. The wheel was eventually rebuilt and reopened in 2013, 5 years later and yes, we were called on again!

The atmosphere was fantastic with the Docklands precinct coming out in support of the gigantic new tourist icon.

Our roving musical band provided great excitement and was ideal covering a large amount of ground around the base of the Melbourne Star. The real ‘star’ was our splendid, luminous star man character. He not only sparkled in the sunshine, partook in frequent hugs with tourists, but also offered advice to the many visitors on the day. He also matched the Melbourne Star beautifully as it rose high overhead.
