Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular

Rocking Festival Performances

The Ale Capones storm the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular!

Wacky Creative now has a long and enviable history with this great event, the brainchild of Steve Jeffares and Guy Greenstone, owners of The Local Taphouse bars in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular (GABS) has grown substantially from 2012 with regular sold out sessions in Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Buildings. Wacky Creative was hired to provide exciting, engaging entertainment in a venue known for performance challenges.

We were faced with needing to connect with thousands of drinking patrons in a cavernous, boomy space. Luckily, we are experts at roving entertainment, bringing performance directly to the people. We also have a unique instrumentation that can cut through without amplification. The Ale Capones were born! A perfectly rebranded roving music trio ideal for this event.

Focussing on small areas in the exhibition halls, we were able to generate incredible responses with patrons singing and dancing along. We joined in games of ‘Giant Jenga’ providing an underscore of music for the tense players. We heralded countless birthdays and honoured a few nervous hens and bucks with their own song.

Following a successful Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular, the organisers  asked us to develop a beer related activity for their patrons. We put our heads together and created a Paddle Race. It involved running, falling, laughing, sweating, multiple heats and finals at the end of each session.
