Making awards celebrations come to life
Melbourne and Olympic Park Trust celebrated the achivements of its huge casual workforce of over 1000 staff in a special night on the centre court of Rod Laver Arena. The aim of the night was to recognise many of the outstanding casual staff that make the precinct work so successfully. These included gardeners, security, gate attendants, catering staff, ushers and maintenance staff. Many had worked at precinct for over 20 years.
In addition to proving an MC for their awards they also need a fun way to start off the night. Our comic tennis players met guests on arrival and had them smiling from the outset. We were also commissioned to write an interactive feature entertainment piece. The brief was to create a feature embracing many elements of Melb and Olympic Park and make it relate to guests in the room. A phantom race call was the perfect solution with horses allocated to tables in the room. The crowd didn’t disappoint with them enthusiastically cheering for their horse during the live call. We had a lot of fun at this event – check out the horse names below.
